Rewind – 2016 in a nutshell
This year has been another busy one for Bladt Industries with the completion of seven projects for offshore wind. We have produced three offshore substations for Sandbank, Bligh Bank and Nordsee One offshore wind farms and finalised four offshore foundation projects with a total of 212 foundations for the Wikinger, Veja Mate, Burbo Bank Extension and Sandbank offshore wind farms.
Our infrastructure division has finished more than 20 projects, including a bridge in Copenhagen, building steel for a new Danish shopping centre, harbour and marine developments and several steel tank and pipeline projects.
Award winning projects and recognition
Projects we are involved in have won significant awards and our work on these shows that we can deliver innovative structures that capture the imagination of both the public and industry. Musiktorvet in Copenhagen, Denmark won a prestigious Danish Architecture Award, and our part of the project was to fabricate and install the beautiful steel canopy that adorns the biggest stage at the venue. The City’s Bridge in Odense, Denmark also received an award for beautiful construction work – work done with us as the general contractor.
Our legal department was selected in November for this year’s Legal 500 “GC Powerlist Nordic Teams” – a fantastic vote of confidence in our operation and our emphasis on the importance of good contracting and using contract managers to liaise with project managers to ensure maximum efficiency.
Cost of Energy Task Force appointed
Key players in the offshore wind industry came to our Lindoe facility in June to take part in a major conference designed to look at lowering the cost of jacket fabrication.
This successful event paved the way for a “Cost of Energy Task Force” to be set up. We have now handed the reins over to the Danish Wind Industry Association to continue the good work started at the conference, and the task force has 70 companies involved in finding lower cost solutions in this vital part of the offshore wind industry.
