For the Danish steel construction company Bladt Industries A/S, the 1st of March was not just another day in the calendar. On this day, the company celebrated its 50th anniversary as a steel construction company and its development from a small steel constructor to an international player in several fields.
13, 15, 40, 50, 1300 are not just numbers for Bladt Industries!
These are the numbers that testify that Bladt Industries is a company which has truly balanced the art of striking while the iron – or in this case the steel – was hot.
Building on its 40 years of experience from the offshore oil and gas industry, Bladt Industries entered into the offshore wind energy business in 2002, fabricating the world’s first offshore substation. Today, 13 years later, the track record counts 15 substations of which 13 has been delivered – on time – and two more are well under way.
Also in 2002, the company took on its first order for offshore foundations – 10 foundations were fabricated for one of the worlds’ first offshore wind projects, Samsø Wind Farm in Denmark. Step by step new orders came along, and today, the company has put its mark on more than 1300 offshore foundations around Europe making Bladt Industries market leader within in this area.
Steel structures for the win
But Bladt Industries A/S is more than just offshore wind. For 50 years, the company has been building long-lasting steel structures. During your visit to Copenhagen, you might encounter some of the other projects Bladt Industries has played a part in: Copenhagen Airport, The Opera House, the Great Belt Bridge, The Concert Hall for the Danish Broadcasting Corporation and several other infrastructural constructions.
50 years in business – that is something, and Bladt Industries is ready for another 50 years of exiting projects.
Wednesday 11th March – Bladt Industries A/S will mark the anniversary with a reception at their stand E-D52 at 3.00 p.m.
