Banedanmark chose Bladt Industries for the removal of the bascule bridge, which a freighter a few weeks ago ran into and destroyed the bascule bridge.
The removal went as planned, when Bladt last Saturday removed the damaged bascule bridge across the Limfjord at Aalborg, Denmark.
Bladt Industries A / S used the floating crane Samson for lifting of the structures, which was removed in two laps. First were the 400 tons counterweight removed, followed by the 120 tons heavy bascule bridge.
Efficient and competent project management as well as skilled craftsmen and the right setup meant that Bladt used less than 12 hours to remove the structure.
The work was done with the utmost attention to safety.
