Beatrice: First sail-away

Last week the first four jacket foundations for the Beatrice Offshore Windfarm Ltd project were sailed away from our site in Denmark (Lindø).

30 August 2017

The whole process went according to the plan and on the 22nd of August at 14.45, the first two jackets left the site and at 19.00 another two jacket foundations followed. Five days after Seaway Heavy Lifting announced that the first two Beatrice jackets were successfully installed, and that the installation went smooth.

Bladt Industries will in total provide 30 four-legged jacket foundations for the Beatrice Offshore Wind Farm.

The jacket foundations will have a height of up to approximately 70 meters with weights of up to approximately 940 tons – making them significantly larger than previous jacket structures fabricated at Lindoe.

The Beatrice wind farm will comprise 84 Siemens turbines with a total capacity of 588MW. The wind farm will be located in the Outer Moray Firth, off the north coast of Scotland, and will produce enough energy for approximately 470,000 homes.
