An additional scope of 24 transition pieces enlarges Bladt’s fabrication and supply scope from 35 to 59 transition pieces for the Ørsted owned Borssele 1&2 offshore windfarm project.
Bladt will execute the contract for the additional 24 transition pieces at its fabrication yard in Aalborg in continuation of the original contract of 35 transition pieces, of which fabrication began in November this year.
“Having secured the additional 24 transition pieces for our Aalborg yard, we are delighted to continue our well-established and trustful partnership with Ørsted. We have a strong Bladt-team of dedicated and committed employees who will do their utmost to meet and even go beyond our customers’ expectations. I am absolutely certain that this will also be the case for this project” says Lars Bender, Vice President, Commercial & Sales, Bladt Industries.
The Borssele 1&2 project comprises 94 offshore wind turbines with a total capacity of 752 MW and is controlled and developed by Ørsted. The wind farm will be installed in the Dutch part of the North Sea about 23 km from the coast of Westkapelle in the Netherlands. The operation of the park is expected to start up by 2020 and will provide electricity to 1 million households.
