Over the course of the past year harbour constructions has kept Bladt Industries highly occupied. A team of strong profiles has through the last decades completed a number of complex buildings in the harbour field. Within this particular field, it is not only competencies in design and building of steel- and machine constructions that are in play, but also highly timing, as it is often in areas where the ferry operation in parallel with the completion of the project will function unaffected. The infrastructure division at Bladt is pleased to note that they have succeeded to get orders for most of the offers made in Harbour & Marine core areas in 2017.
A gangway in record time
The first contract in 2017 was concluded in February with Scandlines HH shipping company. The delivery, which was completed in record time and delivered on 30 June, consisted of a 160 meter long gangway – from the ferry terminal in Helsingoer Ferry Port to the shipping company’s ferry landing 1. The project, which was completed as a turnkey contract, included authority management, design and planning, foundations, fully-assembled gangway with escape routes as well as safety and electrical installations.
Two bascule assemblies for new battery-powered ferry
In April 2017 Bladt signed a contract with the construction company Ivan Jacobsen A/S for the delivery of two new ferry bascule assemblies for installation in Thyboroen and Agger Faergehavne respectively. The assemblies will be used for the new port facilities that will be erected in connection with the company “Thyboroen Agger Faergefarts” insertion of a new battery-powered ferry, which currently is being built at Soeby Vaerft. The bascule assemblies will be manufactured, installed and commissioned ready for commercial ferry operations on 1 May 2018. The project will be executed in compliance with the general contract of complete design and dimensioning, manufacturing and delivery of a total of approx. 2x40 steel flaps, shock absorbers, complete hydraulics and control systems, engineering houses, assembly and commissioning.
Complete passenger landing facilities
In October 2017 Bladt signed a contract with the Color Line shipping company for delivery of two complete passenger landfills for installation in the shipping port of Sandefjord, Norway and Strömstad, Sweden. The plants that are delivered as a main contract include design and dimensioning, manufacturing and delivery of combined stairway and elevation towers, personal lifts, telescopic landings, complete installation with glass facades, complete hydraulics, control and safety systems, engineering houses as well as assembly and commissioning. The plants will be used in conjunction with the company’s new plug-in hybrid ferry M/V Color Hybrid, which currently is under construction at Ulstein Verft, Norway and is expected to be added on the route June 2019.
Main delivery to Molslinjen’s new route
By the end of 2017, Bladt received the final order for the main deliveries to Molslinjen’s new ferry routes: Roenne – Ystad and Roenne – Koege.
The Roenne – Ystad route will be navigated by the ferries H/F Express 1 and H/F Max Mols as of September 1, 2018.
The Roenne – Koege route will be navigated by a new ro-pax ferry, M/V Hammershus, which currently is being built at the Finnish shipyard Rauma. The main deliveries to Roenne and Ystad, respectively, consist of complete passenger landings with telescopic landings, staircases and lifts, new ro-ros for access to the ferries’ main deck and rebuilding of the existing ro-ro ramps. Furthermore, a complete ramp/ro-ro assembly for traffic access to the upper deck in the port of Roenne. The facilities, which are delivered as turnkey, include authorities processing, complete design and dimensioning, hydraulics, control and safety systems as well as assembly and commissioning.
Offers on foundations, pitching, fender systems, mooring systems, bunker facility, etc. are currently in final negotiations.
The project with the Roenn – Ystad and Roenne – Koege facilities was started approx. 2 years ago, where Molslinjen received orders for the development and design of the individual facility concepts. The design project was handed in August 2017.
The large flow of orders in 2017 further manifests Bladt Industries A/S’s position as one of Scandinavia’s leading suppliers in the Harbour & Marine field.
Bladt Industries A/S has within the last approx. 25 years delivered 100 bridges of different types, of which a significant part of gangways and bascule bridges to ferries.
The majority of the order intake for 2017 is for old and well-known customers, which we have previously supplied several facilities.
