RWE Renewables has selected Danish company Bladt Industries to deliver both the foundations and the offshore substation for it is 342MW Kaskasi Offshore Wind Farm, which will be constructed off the German coast.
The first cans of the transition pieces and monopiles have already been rolled on schedule, ensuring production of the 39 monopiles, 38 transition pieces, and one special designed transition piece for the offshore substation begins in the third quarter of 2020. The work will continue until the third quarter of 2021, when the final foundation is scheduled to leave Bladt Industries’ manufacturing site in Denmark ahead of installation 35 kilometres north of the island of Heligoland, in moderate water depths of 18 to 25 metres.
