Køge Nord Station – what a sight from above

We have taken some impressive pictures of the upcoming walkway, which will span the upcoming double-track railway, Køge Bugt Highway, and the already existing double-track S-train line.

The project is progressing on schedule and during the autumn the sections will be installed. Currently, the sections are on the assembly site getting ready for installation.

The developer of the future walkway on “Køge Nord Station” is “Banedanmark”. The design is created by COBE and Dissing+Weitling with COWI as counsellors. You can follow the construction on www.køgenordstation.dk or on Banedanmarks homepage

The walkway will be 225 metres in length and about 9.5 metres wide. Its purpose is to connect the platforms on the station and thereby create a short passage for the approximately 8,000 passengers who daily pass through the area and allow them to easily switch train. The bridge will be above the future double-tracked railway, Køge Bugt Highway, and the existing double-tracked S-train line.

The construction of the walkway started in July 2016 where site development and planning was initiated.
