Successful load-out of the first OSS for Hornsea Project One

An important and not least historical milestone for Bladt Industries has been reached as the first out of three substations for the Ørsted project Hornsea Project One has been loaded out on barge ready for takeoff. Never in history have three substations, a Reactive Compensation Station and 68 foundations been fabricated at a “one-stop-shop” as it is the case at Bladt Industries facilities right now.

In May 2016, Bladt Industries and Semco Maritime won a contract to build three 2,800 tons offshore substations for Hornsea Project One and now nearly two years later the first OSS has just been loaded on to the barge.

The Hornsea Project One Offshore Wind Farm will have a capacity of 1.2 GW in total, with 174 wind turbines, three substations and an RCS. The offshore wind farm will be situated in the North Sea, 120 kilometres off the coast of Yorkshire in the UK.
