Courseulles sur Mer
France (448 MW)
Bladt Industries has won the contract to deliver 64 transition pieces for the Calvados offshore wind farm
(Courseulles-sur-Mer) in France. Bladt Industries has been awarded the contract by Saipem SA, a subsidiary of Saipem (an Italian global solution provider for energy and infrastructures sectors).
The fabrication is planned to start in August 2021 with loadout planned for late 2022. Each transition piece will have a height of 24 meters and a weight of approximately 500 tons. Fabrication and loadout of all 64 transition pieces will take place at Bladt Industries’ production facilities in Aalborg, Denmark.
The Calvados offshore wind farm will consist of 64 wind turbines with a total capacity of 450 MW and will be located 16 km off the French coast in water depths ranging from 22 to 31 meters. The wind farm will produce enough electricity to supply 630,000 people, which is more than 90% of the people who live in the Calvados region.
