Belgium (219 MW)

Reference

Bladt Industries has signed fabrication contracts for monopiles and transition pieces for the Northwester 2 project with EPCI contractor Jan De Nul NV and developer Parkwind NV.

The contract for 23 WTG monopiles and transitions pieces and the contract for 1 monopile and transition piece foundation for the substation is a testament to Bladt Industries’ strategy as a One-Stop-Shop in terms of being the preferred partner in the offshore wind industry for delivery of monopiles, transitions pieces, jackets foundations and substations.

Bladt Industries will fabricate both monopiles and transition pieces in Aalborg. The monopiles have a diameter of up to approximately 8 metres, a length of up to 77 metres, and a weight of up to app. 1000 tonnes. The transition pieces have a diameter of up to 6.8 metres, a length of app. 20 metres, and a weight of 189 tonnes.

Northwester 2 is controlled and developed by Parkwind NV, who is in charge of the construction of the park. The park will be installed in the Belgian part of the North Sea about 46 km off the Belgian coast. The park will have a total capacity of 219 MW.
