1st Upper 3D structure on place

The 1st Upper 3D structure stacking onto Lower 3D structure Bladt Industries has successfully completed the first stacking of the Upper 3D structure to the Lower 3D structure for Jacket 1 for the first out of 30 jacket foundations for the Beatrice Offshore Windfarm Ltd (BOWL) project.

The operation started at 6.00 am and continued smoothly until final completion at 8.30 am.

Bladt Industries will provide 30 four-legged jacket foundations for the wind farm. The jacket foundations will have a height of up to approximately 70 metres with weights of up to approximately 900 tons - making them significantly larger than previous jackets structures fabricated at Lindoe.

The £2.6bn Beatrice Offshore Windfarm Ltd (BOWL) project has been given the green light for construction by owners SSE (40%), Copenhagen Infrastructure Partners (CIP) (35%) and Red Rock Power Limited (25%) after reaching Financial Close on 23 May 2016.  The project will be one of the largest private investments ever made in Scottish infrastructure.
